・Please tell us the reason of why you started cosplay. (And what is your first cosplay?)
💥 :I received a flyer in my mailbox of a cosplay event held nearby my home. My sister gave me a push to try out cosplaying with the Naruto outfit I had on hand.
(That I believed was pajamas when I first got it. LOL.)
The community was extremely welcoming and I enjoyed myself together with my sister as we attempt to bring out the character in our cosplay.
It was from my unforgettable first experience in a cosplay event, that made me started cosplay; enjoy my cosplaying experience with my friends/family,
as well as the joy of portraying my favorite characters. My first cosplay was Uzumaki Naruto from Naruto.

・Please tell us your favorite anime/manga/game character.
💥 :I have far too many favorite characters, but if I were to choose, it would be Kaito Kid from Detective Conan/Kaito Kid 1412.
I love his design and concept of a thief dressed in white to catch your attention. He has the charisma and mysterious vibe that draws you in to love his approach on robbing a jewel. (LOL.)
・Which character cosplay do you think is your masterpiece?
💥 :A favorite cosplay of mine would be Katsuki Bakugo from Boku no Hero Academia.
He is a character I would not mind cosplaying countless of times as I love his personality and character development in the series.
I definitely have much more plans for him in the future.
I was satisfied with how I styled his wig as I challenged myself to merge two wigs to have enough volume to create the spikes for his hair.
The challenging part on cosplaying Bakugo would be the expressions as well as the body postures/motions as they are very prominent to his character.
I use this as a drive to challenge myself to bring out his personality in my photos/videos.

・Do you make your own costume or props?
💥 :I’ve made props before and altered outfits into costumes, but have yet to try making an entire outfit from scratch.
I do have plans to touch on sewing to make costumes that are more intricate in the future. For now, I will be brushing up on my prop making skills.

・Have you ever took part in any Japan or oversea events? (If not, are you planning to go?)
💥 :I’ve attended Comiket 95 and Tonacos in Japan back in 2018, Comic Fiesta held in Malaysia, Otafuse in Sabah, Malaysia and Comic World Taiwan.
I will try to partake in more overseas conventions soon as I would like to see the different cultures of how the event is organized as well as make more friends in these events.
・Have you ever took part in any cosplay contest?(If no, are you planning to go?)
💥 :I have not taken part in a cosplay contest, though I wish I had a chance to.
I’ve always taken an interest at how the skits are performed and how the execution is.
Hopefully one day, I’ll pluck up the courage to perform on stage, be it a skit, dance or singing.
・Do Singapore have a lot of cosplayers? Would it be difficult if I want to start cosplay in Singapore?
💥 :There definitely has been an increase in the cosplay scene in Singapore. I find it is relatively a good step for people who takes an interest in cosplay to start on here.
Other than the community who welcomes people with open arms, the access to costumes are not difficult for starting cosplayers, as most people who start cosplaying might not be well versed in sewing to sew their own outfits. Other than the cosplay shops situated in Singapore, there are other access to the costumes such as online shopping that is easily accessible and have minimal issues on shipping it over.
・If cosplayers want to cosplay in Singapore, due to the religious factors, regionals factors, etc do they have to pay any special attentions?
💥 :In Singapore, there is definitely much more freedom to cosplay out in public. There are often times where we have to write in to a certain management to use their facilities.
In terms of religious factors, we should refrain from having photoshoots at religious sanctuaries, temples or houses of worship. It is disrespectful of us to disturb the people who visit the religious houses.Though we have this freedom, it is important to not forget our basic ethics and professionalism. Although we are in costumes, it does not give us the liberation to act rowdy, trespass or cause disturbance to the public.
・Do Singapore have any special props making techniques or tools? If yes, please share with us
💥 :Compared to other countries, I find there is a limitation to prop making in Singapore.
Not everyone has a workspace or proper tools to cut plastic, melt foam, etc. Due to this limitation.
I’ve seen my friends making props out of recyclable material like, a Ramune bottle into a gas canister, or a cereal box into a walkie talkie.
・What Are Your Future Goals?
💥 :I hope there will be opportunities to travel to different conventions around the globe to have a different experience compared to how Singapore conventions work, from meeting new people, to learning more about their culture, meeting lovely people who support my works and meet the people I look up to as well!
